Don’t knock it till you try it! Believe it or not, this is one of my favourite snacks to make. Who knew eating a bunch of mushrooms would be so fun and taste so good? They also pair brilliantly as a side dish to steak and mashed potatoes, just saying….
Ingredients:
- 1 bundle of mushrooms, or about 300g
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3-4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp chili flakes (or adjust to taste)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
Optional Toppings:
- diced red onion
- chopped parsley
- crumbled feta cheese
- Squeeze of lemon juice
Instructions:
- Prepare the Mushrooms: Gently clean the mushrooms with a cloth to remove any dirt (avoid rinsing under water to clean).
- Season the Mushrooms: In a bowl, mix the olive oil, minced garlic, chili flakes, salt, and pepper until well combined. Add the mushrooms and toss until evenly coated with the seasoning.
- Air-Fry: Place the mushrooms in the air fryer and cook at 200°C (400°F) for 8-12 minutes, or until they are golden to your liking. (Alternatively if you don’t have an air fryer, bake in the oven at 425°F; note that it will take longer to cook in the oven than air fryer.)
