If you’re looking for an easy and quick popcorn-like snack that’s pretty darn good for you, this is it. Air-fried butter beans become so crispy, are protein filled, and you can mess around with different flavours. My seasoning combo I used in this recipe is giving smokey and cheesy!
Ingredients:
- 1 can butter beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- salt, to taste
- pepper, to taste
Instructions:
Prepare the Beans:
In a mixing bowl, combine the butter beans with olive oil, nutritional yeast, cumin, smoked paprika, cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Toss until the beans are evenly coated.
Air-Fry the Beans:
Preheat your air fryer to 200°C (400°F). Spread the coated butter beans in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air-fry for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the beans are crispy and golden.
Baking Option:
If you don’t have an air fryer, preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Spread the coated beans evenly on a parchment-lined baking sheet, ensuring they’re spaced out. Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway, until crispy.
Serve:
Enjoy these crispy butter beans as a snack, salad topping, or a side dish!
