Try this easy pan-fried Hot Honey Halloumi Salad, served on a bed of arugula, topped with pomegranate seeds, walnuts, and a drizzle of tangy lemon juice. The perfect balance of savoury and sweet!
Ingredients
- 1 package of halloumi, sliced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- salt, to taste
- pepper, to taste
- chili flakes, to spice taste
- 1-2 tbsp honey, drizzled
- 2 handfuls of arugula
- 2 tbsp pomegranate seeds
- 2 tbsp chopped walnuts
- 1/2 lemon, squeezed
Instructions
Prepare the Halloumi: add a drizzle of olive oil to a pan over medium-high heat. Place the halloumi slices in the pan.
Season and Sear: aeason the halloumi with salt, pepper, and chili flakes. Drizzle with honey, then cook for 2-3 minutes on one side until a golden-brown crust forms.
Flip and Finish: flip the halloumi slices and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, or until a crust forms on the other side. Be careful, as this step happens quickly!
Assemble and Serve: on a plate, create a bed of arugula. Place the grilled halloumi on top, then garnish with pomegranate seeds, walnuts, and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice. Enjoy!
